Logitech G915 TKL

Guess who bought more things?

Meeeeeee!

Last week I sorta impulse-bought a Logitech Lightspeed G915 TKL (Linear) keyboard as it was on my mind to purchase a wireless keyboard that I could use on-the-go, since my home desktop keyboard (Kingston HyperX Alloy Elite) is wired.

I was hoping that I could so some work out of the house, but with COVID-19 and lockdowns in Australia being a thing… I guess not..

But oh well new gear day!

After some brief research, I purchased the Linear variant as I didn’t want to be that obnoxious person with super loud mechanical key switches out in the open. The G915 TKL is available in three variants - GL Clicky, GL Tactile and GL Linear. Supposedly the GL Tactile has roughly the same loudness as the GL Linear - and would have been my choice of switch type… but unfortunately it was out of stock from the place I had found a good deal from - so I ‘settled’ for the GL Linear.

Inside the box we’re given the keyboard, a USB Type A (m) to Micro USB (m) cable, a Micro USB (f) to USB Type A (f) adapter, and a USB wireless receiver dongle.

The underside of the keyboard actually has a convenient and secure place to store the dongle, which would make keeping the dongle with the keyboard simple (note: the keyboard has Bluetooth support, so you don’t necessarily need the dongle)

Speaking of the underside, there are two pairs of keyboard flip stands, one has a 4° inclination, and the other 8°. I would probably use the 8 degree one.

To make carrying the keyboard around easier (my intended purpose of purchasing this keyboard), I purchased a carry case off AliExpress. It’s got a pretty good build quality, and the inside texture is nice and soft.

I think the interior is abit too small though, you can see the keyboard slightly protruding in the lower left and right corners - but the case still closes fine.

Usability and Experience

EDIT: 1st November

Hahaha…. so I haven’t actually used this keyboard yet… It’s been sitting in a shelf for a good three months. Hopefully I’ll try it soon…
